Job Opening: Regulatory Specialist
The Citrus Heights office of Madrone Ecological Consulting, LLC has an opening for a regulatory specialist. The ideal candidate will have at least a BS degree in biological sciences or similar and have five to seven years of experience in the environmental consulting industry or related government agency. Madrone is seeking a hard-working and dedicated mid-level or senior-level biologist and/or regulatory specialist with the desire to learn and grow with the company. Madrone services an array of clients that require assistance with project planning and compliance related to Sections 401 and 404 of the Clean Water Act, CDFW’s Streambed Alteration Agreement program and Incidental Take Permit (ITP) program, Section 7 and Section 10 of the federal Endangered Species Act, and local biological policies and regulations. The person filling this position will join our experienced team of biologists and regulatory specialists, and work directly with Madrone’s Principals and project teams. The candidate will work both with a team and independently to conduct a variety of field surveys and assessments, prepare biological reports, complete regulatory permit applications, and coordinate with agency staff. In this position you will work directly with clients and other project team members, and coordinate with agency staff to ensure our clients are served effectively. Madrone offers training and educational opportunities, and is looking for someone interested in joining our close-knit team and growing with our company. This is a unique opportunity to work at a small consulting firm under Principals that have 60+ years of collective industry experience, and that specialize in wetland and endangered species permitting. Madrone focuses on strategic planning and permitting that ensures our clients remain in compliance with applicable laws and regulations in a cost effective and timely manner. This position requires strong communication, writing, budgeting, organizational, and time management skills. Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
