    Job description.
    The California Department of Conservation is hiring an environmental scientist to work in the Division of Mine Reclamation (DMR). Come join our dedicated team working to reclaim lands impacted by mining! You will work with a talented interdisciplinary team of Environmental Scientists, Engineering Geologists, Civil Engineers, and Landscape Architects on meaningful and challenging projects and have opportunities for fieldwork throughout the entire state. You will work cooperatively with local, state, and federal agency partners to implement the Surface Mining and Reclamation Act (SMARA).
    The position is based in downtown Sacramento in the brand-new, beautiful headquarters building for the California Natural Resources Agency. Telework may be available for this position under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California. Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview but must show proof of residence in California, prior to being eligible for appointment.

    Salary
    $4,145–$7,926 per month.
