The California Dept of Fish and Wildlife is hiring an Environmental Scientist in the Vegetation Classification and Mapping Program, which advances the State’s vegetation classification system and vegetation sampling and mapping standards and to further the Department's goal of completing a state-wide vegetation map. This position will collect and analyze vegetation data, write vegetation descriptions and assign rarity rankings, use ArcGIS and ecological knowledge and photointerpretive skills to map vegetation, and train others in vegetation sampling.
